I just cannot understand the Dempsey decision.

For PR reasons alone I would have pre-signed some beloved PHF folks in the markets retaining teams to encourage the fanbase to migrate.

It feels that way. Like they wanted to establish the pwhpa names that were picked before the draft over the bigger phf names.

There was definitely a heavy PWHPA bias in the selections from my outside perspective
