You lucky man!!..Who was best The Who or The Clash?
It was a big set for a support band. I had the LP The Clash live At The Shea Stadium. I didn't actually realise they were supporting The Who! Two phenomenal bands!!
Yeah by 82 The Who had "matured" a bit! 😆
2 Bands I would love to have seen!! I was still at school in 82 and The Clash split not that long after that gig!
I saw the Beach Boys, my second concert, right before the Beatles in SF. I believe that was their last concert in the US. Girls were fainting all over the place.
I bet you have! Me too! I always love to see Jackson Browne but the one my brain instantly refers back to was three rows back from the wonderful Stevie Nicks.
Yeah, I’ve seen Stevie Nicks alone once and Fleetwood Mac three times the last time I saw Fleetwood Mac was when Christine McVie came back to them. Great great concert.
So many of you wish to see Queen - Our Queen - the GLAM ROCK Queen of the 1970s. That is the TRUE Queen.👑🇬🇧 And yes, they were THE PINNACLE. The absolute best.
Soooo cool! A couple years ago the Good Ole Grateful Deadcast did an in depth podcast on the creamery, the concert and everything that went into it. Fascinating stuff. Check it out if you haven’t
Stoneground, 1972. Best band of the era. Sal Valentino, John Blakey, Tim Barnes, Pete Sears, Annie Sampson, Lynne Hughes, Lydia Phillips, Deirdre LaPorte, and 3 guys who went on to become Pablo Cruise.
I saw the original RHCP at the Utah University Ballroom. It was 86 or 87. I went with my high school sweetheart. He’s no longer with us. That was a fun gig.
Phenomenal! I was 13 too 🩵 I came to love them so much. Even later, I missed the chance to see them, thinking there was plenty of time. Alas, Freddie died.
When I was in my late teens, I subscribed to Rock Scene magazine. I lived in NYC and they reported on all the bands playing the clubs NY Dolls, Talking Heads, Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smith - EVERYONE. Just a train ride away, alas I too, was too young to get in. I empathize!
That’s so cool 😎. I made up for it by spending my 20’s decade living in Los Angeles. I saw everyone! (except Queen) Freddie had stopped performing by then.

The Sunsets Farewell Tour.
It was the last one before they finished as a band.
How's that for specificity?
Gonna get myself some devil powers.
I love these questions. The answers are so good.
Any damn year!!

I thought both were awesome. The Clash was raw & powerful. The Who were less over the top but played all the classics, as I remember it anyway.
Definitely memorable!

Definitely envy you there!!

I'll say Chicago 1970-71 ( maybe enjoyed they were still CTA) - before the Peter Cetera prominence
And 2nd choice: Earth, Wind and Fire 1979. Incredible show.
