“911 services in B.C. are the responsibility of local governments,” said a spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Safety.
The affected municipalities say the downloading of 911 dispatch costs into their budgets will add 2.7-to-6 per cent to property taxes this fiscal year, or $4.9 million.
