I do not understand how anyone can remain active on X when it has clearly become such an unhinged place.

Says a lot that about 90% of the traffic I’m seeing on X right now is absolutely convinced the British govt is about to embark on a mass programme of state murder of the elderly and vulnerable. What was until recently the town square of politics has become the preserve of the bad, mad and deranged.

It's incomprehensible that UK govt departments and civil society institutions are not at least developing parallel presences on Bsky and Threads. Why are they so slow slow to recognise the deterioration of X?

And the numbers are all fake. I would bet 100% that everyone on Bluesky has more real followers now than they have on Twitter. Elon fakes all the Views and Follower Counts (although note that FB was doing that a decade ago. All their Impression data is fake)

An interesting if unanswerable question is there the possibility that under it's current ownership X is *deliberately* skewing the algorithm even more for users marked as influential in the political space than for "regular users" there for memes and news and random assorted scrolling

I follow disability advocates here saying the same thing. It’s not just X, but a subgroup of activists who are fearful that euthanasia law is a validation that society feels those with disabilities aren’t worth keeping alive. I empathize with their fear, but disagree w/their interpretation.
