what I imagine will happen is that when they realize that these are a bunch of post offices, SSA offices, military recruiting offices, etc., they will have to pay a premium to reinstate the lease on short notice

I have a possible if partial fix. If Dems could recruit three GOPers in House to switch parties, this could be over. Impeachment could proceed as well as stopping Gaza madness and starting investigations as to Elon Musk’s opaque and suspicious activities!

How is a country supposed to function without a government? And how do people receive social security etc? Won’t people be homeless and or starving within

I think the aim is that they don't return to work, and now he has control of the Treasury, he can just refuse to pay people. He's also completely beyond any kind of legal response, because he'll ignore any court action and the Supreme Court will throw out any meaningful challenges.
