This move isn't very surprising, after all the frontline in the area south and around Kurakhove has shrunken considerably in the last three months.
Shown below is a very simplified Order of Battle of the area. 20th Army, 68th Corps and 114th Motor Rifle Brigade will likely remain

However, both the 20th and 150th MRD (which are both part of the 8th Combined Arms Army) will likely be transferred towards the area between Toretsk and east of Pokrovsk. Whereas fighting around Toretsk had been firece, the area west of Niu-York has been rather calm so far.

There has been some foreshadowing for this transfer, such as this Russian mother who first cheered about the removal of her son from Kurakhove (he is a soldier of the 103rd MRR), before getting the information that he would be deployed elsewhere

According to a PoW interview, both the 163rd Tank Regiment (TR) and the 103rd MRR of the 150th MRD are now supporting the Russian 132nd Motor Rifle Brigade (MRB) which is fighting on the northern part of Toretsk

Judging from MIA reports and geolocations, both the 102nd MRR and 68th TR of the 150th MRD have done the majority of the fighting around Dachne after the capture of Kurakhove, those units will likely go to rest and recuperation before getting redeployed

Russia had already started to move major units away from Kurakhove at the end of December, where the 5th and 110th MRB were transferred and tasked with renewed assaults around Vozdvyzhenka
