My daughter's outgoing and charismatic personality helped inspire one of the kids in my WIP. I hope that as she gets older, she'll want to help with more of the brainstorming and plotting, too. #MomsWritersClub
Q4: My daughter's helped with research (unintentionally) for my current project. She is a huge DC fan, so she's helped me learn soooo much, watched so many movies w me, and has kept me going to the comic book store. #momswritersclub
Q4. My kid helps me to kinda understand family dynamics and how kids think so that comes into play. He also says it's kinda cool that I write stuff and I got mention in his spelling story for homework last week 😅
Absolutely. When I print out revisions to mark up, my big kid insists that I read aloud so she can offer feedback. My little guy is only 4, but I can say with certainty that by being their mom I’ve learned how to pay attention to new kinds of details. They keep me curious! #momswritersclub
T: so many ways! M brainstorms me (we hashed out some major editing plot issues over the weekend), proofreads, helps with graphics in Canva, and with YouTube videos. M: I love to help! #momswritersclub
Part of the inspo for my MG book on sub was two books my daughter gave me to read when we were quarantined together during Covid a few years ago. I'm always asking my kids about the books they read and what they like about them... best resource ever lol #momswritersclub
For one of my novels, I asked them to suggest a bunch of ideas and names and then I tried to tie it all together. It was fun to write.
