Waffle House has placed a 50 cents per egg surcharge on all orders due to the rising cost of eggs. But hey, at least we have the Gulf of America now!

That’s an extra $6/doz over the cost they already paid, implying their costs are over $10/doz.

Average cost of eggs nationally still under $6. They buy in bulk….

This isn’t disaster response, it’s price gouging.

they were probably paying pennies per egg before and they are now competing for a much smaller share of the pie, meaning that their savings margins from buying in bulk have gone down
