The best thing that could be done to help domestic abuse victims is fix the housing shortage. So many people are stuck in abusive situations because they simply have nowhere to go.

It would also help if police forces didn't force perpetrators back into the home just because they are the named tenant and do nothing for the victims. You know that is exactly what happened with my family and the failures of Avon&Somerset police just keep on coming

I really hope this scheme makes a difference and can be rolled out safely. The state still assists coercive and abusive partners by paying Universal Credit to one person only. It's hard for a victim to request split payments when they are being manipulated and/or living in fear
