This is something which I think is a bit of a plothole. Kassandras hidden blade. Iirc she got it during the era where to use it with a closed fist you would lose a finger but she was able to do it ok. - ThreadSky

I believe it was because the blade wasn't intentionally designed to lose a finger, the tradition ordinated from Byek who lost his finger by accident when using the blade for the first time. As he and aya then set up the hidden ones, it evolved into a tradition to show commitment to the creed

That’s the confusing thing though. When Aya showed Bayek how to use it. She made sure that he opened his palm rather than make a fist. It’s because of the fist Bayek lost his finger, but in Valhalla Kassandra did it just fine which is confusing as it’s Altaïr who modified the design of the blade.

I’m with you there. Just kinda felt weird they gave her a hidden blade and it’s never really explained where she got it, how she’s avoiding the finger etc.
They could’ve just…had her wear it like Darius and Eivor? She could’ve said an old friend taught her.
