As a family, media, especially comedy, is our love language, and we can have entire conversations solely quoting Blackadder, The Two Ronnies, Airplane!, The Fast Show etc. Evident this isn’t the norm nowadays but I still try to make a point of these shared experiences.

I regular go to the cinema with my brother, my partner and I always make sure we have a roster of shows we’re watching together, and my favourite is a monthly get together with old school friends where we watch a movie together, almost like a book club.

Sure, I’ll be sat round the tv on Christmas Day with all my partners family for Wallace and Gromit, and this does seem to happen more at Christmas. However, we can always carve the space out to do this kind of thing with things like Netflix and Prime, and I bloody love it.

Even with younger generations at work, if we can find something we’ve both watched and enjoyed, our current digital age means we can instantly get hold of our favourite clips to sit and watch together, just to share that fun. I do think this has evolved rather than died off!
