@mrjamesob.bsky.social I’m about 15 minutes behind on catch up and as a partner of someone that has OCD, the shift between this laugh and the beautiful insight into this awful condition was visceral. The phone full of mundane photos, the intrusive thoughts that seem almost comical to an outsider.
@mrjamesob.bsky.social of course, if you ask her, her biggest complaint through suffering with this condition is the blithe misspeak from others. “I’m a little bit OCD about this”
Hopefully Tuppence’s book can further an understanding that OCD is something people really do suffer with.
@mrjamesob.bsky.social Though, if you ask me, as the partner I’m the one that really suffers. Never knowing what appliance, charger or other such cable I’m going to come back to unplugged (all of which could kill a pet or burn the street down). The desperate woe of a man slightly inconvenienced.
