What they are missing is that many federal offices have downgraded their spaces to have hoteling as management doesn’t expect to have every employee in the office every day. You’ll have employees sitting in lobbies or in conference rooms because there aren’t enough desks.
Working from home is not a “covid era privilege!” Taking this option away without at least offering the flexibility of a hybrid schedule disproportionately affects women in the workforce. Of course I wouldn’t expect those two to be concerned about that.
Come on, Vanity Fair! Do better with your headline writing. “Cutting Edge?” Sorry, no! That lends some suggestion of credibility.
Call it for what it is! “Insane,” “Draconian,” “Foolish,” “Malevolent,” “Idiotic,” or “Downright Evil”…any of those would work. Don’t downplay this man anymore!!!
Imagine the large amount of Republican bureaucrats working in our government that voted for Trump seeng this, and realizing they just put themselves out of work
Coming from an ex federal employee, during and post Covid the government changed, cancelled, and otherwise let go of properties that were offices for federal workers. This building are not, for the most part sitting empty. The cost of finding and leasing the office space is not cheap. Next dumb idea

Toxic twins of unconsciousness.
Remote work PROVED already that...
1. Work morale skyrockets
2. People put in more hours (while getting paid the same)
3. People are happier
Elon is like, "fuck it, treat every business like a tech start up"
