Honestly I’ve been concerned about this very likely possibility since Siri was released on iPhones, except your phone is probably on you at all times and also tracks your exact location.

Connective privacy has been dead for a couple decades now. I made peace with it. To keep something private, you tell nobody. Ever. In my line of work, it’s been obvious for quite some time.

I don't not own, and will not own a smart speaker. I also don't use voice control on my phone, for anything. These devices have always listened to the ambient speech in a room. It's how they operate.

I thought it was great when I noticed that my phone can run OCR on my pictures. Then I noticed that it pops up an OCR button when it sees text in an image. Which means it's reading text in every picture on my phone.

Yup.

I don't know that they are sending that information off someplace, but if nothing else it makes it easy for anyone who hacks an android phone to extract that information.

It's creepy.
