Today we’ll hear about the project’s learnings and key findings directly from researchers and Experts by Experience – children, young people and parents with lived experience who have been involved in the shaping of the project.
First, we look at the history of the project – its milestones – and the impact it’s had. Researchers from @kent.ac.uk, @uniofcam.bsky.social and @ncb.org.uk are leading this session.
Experts by Experience have been at the core of the project from the start. Dustin Hutchinson from @ncb.org.uk is walking us through the involvement of young people and parents in research and engaging with the government, parliamentarians and policy makers across the past five years.
Eilis Boyle (@kent.ac.uk) and Ava Berry (@ncb.org.uk) are now talking about the Changing Narratives project and its launch party. This strand of Living Assessments aimed at engaging young people with experience of disability or children's social care in creative expression.
Neil Pemberton from @official-uom.bsky.social is now chairing a discussion on oral testimonies and oral history. Julie Anderson (@kent.ac.uk), Keith Clements (@ncb.org.uk) and parent Expert by Experience Janine Wigmore talk about how researchers investigated lived experience.
