But we’re taking a step back to refocus our energy on other goals. Plus, we want to cede space for other incredible projects that deserve their flowers!
Popular vote is ultimately an analysis of marketing over artistic quality and is subject to the internal biases of this space at large.
If you’re nominating & voting this year, please take a moment to check your biases and support those who often go unnoticed and under-appreciated — notably QTPOC.
It’s just not right for our channel right now for a variety of reasons.
Ultimately, award wins aren't what give art value for us — and they aren’t what we want to focus on.
Maybe the awards circuit does that for some — but not for all, not consistently, and not at scale. It all depends on your goals for your project.
