That's because theatre, besides video games, is the most interactive medium. Actors improvise performances based on audience input; altering their voice, emphasizing a line or changing the course of the story altogether.

Modern theatre is exploring interactivity but it can still be found in for example Greek tragedies. When designing for a new medium, drawing inspiration/knowledge from an another one, that shows moments of interactivity, can be very useful.

Haha super cool. Does it still exist? i used to teach there when it was just starting. Thought it was a brilliant concept at the time but kinda lost track what the hku gets up to . (Too many acronyms)

It still does! But it changed names a couple of times and I think it's less focused on video games right now 🤔 but not 100% sure since it's been a while
