Wants to? Hey great. Everyone wants to. But are you willing and able to put together enough talent when you pay your QB such a high percentage of your total salary cap?
I’ll have you know there are only 24 teams with a longer Super Bowl drought than the Ravens. The suffering for their fan base must be horrible. Thoughts and prayers for the good people of Baltimore.
TIL that steelers fans no longer care about pkayoff success. Makes sense since you haven't seen any in ages. The standard remains the standard in da burgh 🤣
2/ Another 4 of the 14 are by guys who were 34 when they won, two were won by Elway (age 37 & 38), 1 by P. Manning (age 39), and the other 3 were 1 each for Plunkett, Staubach, and Unitas.
What that suggests to me is that the realistic window for Jackson is 5/6 years.
3/ Only 23.7% of SBs were won by QBs 34+ and that number drops to 16.9% for QBs 35+, or 10.2% if you take out the GOAT, Tom Brady.
Of course, what happened in the past isn't predictive, & Jackson is extremely talented. It's however difficult to ignore what has happened in the past or ignore trends.
I was going to say "Doesn't every team owner want to win now?" but then I thought about the different teams around the league and I'm not actually sure that they do.

45.7% of the winning SB QBs have been 30+, but consider the multiple wins of Brady, P. Manning, Montana, Bradshaw, etc.
4 of the 14 SB wins by QBs 34+ are Brady's
