Plane was unable to land and went around again, and attempted to land again when the crash occurred. Landing gear did not come down properly.

Bird strikes are common. Only need one engine. Had enough control to go around. Belly landings happen. The wall was known.
Maybe the pilots just forgot to deploy the gear.
Maybe bird strike interrupted the landing sequence/checklist and the pilots skipped that action.
The investigation will sort it out.
