Yeah teaching values is the lie they tell to justify this terrible system. It also relies on the idea that anyone convicted of a crime has no idea what hard work is!
Exactly. My god, even if they were to do something as grinchy and stingy and as starting people at $1/hour and capping them at $5, it would make a huge difference for these men.
