Today I failed to leave a parking garage. Let me explain. Steph and I went to a concert and stayed in Boston. We parked in an underground parking garage, like you do. Because you are not a car, and the scanner doesn’t recognize you…. So there I am standing in front of a parking garage entrance kiosk at a loss. I finally pressed the “Call for help” button. After explaining to an incredulous attendant the litany of ways I messed up leaving the garage 6/

I then back the car into the curb, in an effort to get it out of the way. Then, genius flashes (sarcasm) I *get out and walk over to the entrance* to get another ticket so I can (checks notes) pay a third time for the parking so leave. As I have found out, you (a person) cannot get a ticket 4/

Backed up, and tried to press the receipt button. As we all know, the gate then closes. Ticket is gone, gate is down, and we’re stuck in the garage. So of course now I’m in full “I’ll fix this mode”

As we’re driving up to leave Steph said “Please get a receipt” - so we could get a refund through the app. As I’m paying that, of course, fully leaves my consciousness and I just start to drive out the gate. She says “I need the receipt”. In a mild panic because I know I banged this up, I stopped 2/
