History teacher here. Stealing. Unfortunately, I've got Early Medieval (just missed the Gladiator Age), and Early US (just getting started on Euro colonies in N. America), so it'll have to wait until next semester.
Rome: Civil War (basically just HBO Rome Season 1)
Rome: The Dark World (Teutoburg Forest)
Rome: Infinity War (Crisis of the Third Century)
Rome: Endgame (Hunnic/Gothic invasions of the West)
Rome: Ragnarok (Norman Invasion of Italy)
In a way all superhero fiction already is that. Philiy Wylie's *Gladiator* (1930) was the inspiration for both Gordon Flash and Superman. E.g. like Wylie's Gladiator, the original Superman was a strong jumper. When making the first movie they realized it was grasshopperish so they just made him fly.
