Specifically, the specialized flow cells: "We are keen that all users have the opportunity to complete their projects and will continue to accept orders for the High Duplex flow cells until Wed 27th November 2024.The last order fulfilment date will be 31st December 2024."

But I'd be surprised if the duplex idea completely disappears, because it can be very useful to read both strands of a double stranded molecule

I still prefer duplex or ccs style reads for lots of applications, including de novo assembly. Errors and biases tend to creep in during read correction. But, it will be interesting to follow the progress, which we can do very closely using our HG002 reference assembly: https://github.com/marbl/HG002
