The inspiration seems obvious to me, actually. The Great Mall carpet. It's an homage to a 90s/00s giant in the state of Kansas- home of two Big 12 staple teams. Learn your history, people.

I know people have flagged the Big 12 tournament court for me, and that it's been a topic of conversation, but I'm really only now taking a beat to look at it and process, and holy hell, is the designer okay??? this is obviously a cry for help. a very, very dizzying, atrocious cry for help.
