Girls can only make a mistake if they do it in a cute way or the mistake is instantly resolved in the comic issue it's in. Otherwise, it's bad writing. I learned this through Twitter. 😇
Oh, my goodness, that's very specific, I wasn't thinking that deep into it~ Although I think I understand where you are coming from and I'd say I can see that being some of the cases at least.
HONESTLY She's not even morally grey. She made a dick move, was humbled, and will almost assuredly own up to it at the end of the arc lmao
Watching people up in arms at obnoxious manager behavior at worst when Shadow is the fandom darling isn't even frustrating at this point, it's really funny
I think the part that gets me about writing in discourse like this:
Some people NEED answers NOW NOW NOW for their immediate consumption, unable to see that maybe characters & events can develop *slowly* over an ongoing narrative.
Hype culture and stanning results in poor comprehension.
We've seen this a lot lately, with my favorite example being in the Kenobi Star Wars show. "LOOK AT THIS PLOT HOLE, THAT CHARACTER CAN'T BE DEAD!" That's not a plot hole, we're just a few episodes out from them revealing to the other characters in the show SURPRISE the character isn't dead. Patience
It's fascinating to see you express something I've said multiple times~
Many times in discussions, people would defend she's a good-aligned character and totally justified, or the opposite, with the confidence of who says 1+1=2, when I assumed she's just not been explored enough
I had not considered hype culture, stanning or the effects of binge watching as somebody else mentioned (I'm a bit of a hipster and don't do much of either) as a factor but that's very interesting~
100%. I see this happen with almost every new show that releases weekly instead of all at once (thanks Netflix). Binge culture has fundamentally altered our ability to process content weekly, and Youtube promotes a culture of negativity and outrage about media that further fans the flames. =/

The only "complex characters" you can handle is like what, Xion? A literal NOBODY? Maybe as complex as Quake Woman, who had Mommy Issues.
Same people who couldn't handle Windblade in IDW Transformers in a post-war scenario.
I'd argue Lano has better views on morality than Sonic, she's just extremely shortsighted.

(I love the boy but. I think he'll be sympathetic to her terrible thought process when she apologizes lol)
