Finished the listen. Just heard the bit about “continuing to watch youtube videos”: for some time I have been very deliberate about curating my feed - fully watching videos on topics of interest, “do not recommend” others.
My feed is now mostly sciency videos and people going on adventures.
As a result, my feed is full of Veritasium, Numberphile, Objectivity, Ed Pratt, Wild Beare, Steve Mould, Stand Up Maths, SparksMaths, Scott Manley etc…. (And in a concession to pop culture, Jet Lag, Daily Dose of Internet and a few others)
Other stuff comes in, but “do not rec” is always there.
If you guys ever want a day out, can recommend a place near us, Birdworld near Farnham (off the A31).
There are flamingos, Owls, Emu, and small birds including a budgie enclosure you can walk in. Great for kiddo (and also grownups, I got Monica a “keeper for a day” as a gift)
Next time you're in the park, grab a decent sized stone, find a resonant tree, you might have to try a few, and bang the stone on the tree trunk as hard and as fast as you can.
This will often bring a male woodpecker 'round to check on the competition. It really does work!

They react very badly to being mocked.
