You're so lucky!! I did see a couple show up several times and perched on my fence in my backyard. They flew down to grab pine needles for their nest I think.
I put out dried mealworms. Will that help? I did have a few show up and perch on the fence in my backyard to grab pine needles for their nest. I hear them across the road from my house so they're close by.
From what I've heard, the live mealworms are preferred. But I'll try putting out dried and see how that goes. You can get the dried cheaper in the chicken feed aisle of tractor supply stores.
Yes live mealworms are best but a storage problem. Don’t buy the larger ones for chickens. Get the smaller ones specifically for bluebirds. Tractor Supply sells them.
When I bought the larger ones, I broke them up into smaller pieces so that the birds could handle them better. But I'll go look at Tractor Supply. Thanks!
