We got the 358 from Stockport Interchange to Hayfield Bus Station. It's on the Bee Network even though half of the route is in Derbyshire, so it's £2 for a very pleasant 12-mile journey.
We picked this route for our walk because it starts at the bus station and isn't too hilly. Challenging for a 6-year-old but we were pleasantly surprised how well he took to it.
Weirdly it's about a mile longer than advertised, as they've ended it at a car park that's nowhere near the bus station.

Thanks @peaksandpuddles.com for the tip-off!

By the way, the buses are every hour and take 50-55 minutes each way. The views are great but we obviously brought entertainment.
