A MinuteMob differs from a random group of activists in several ways: 1) They typically know each other owing to a shared circumstance, such as being laid off from the same government agency. 2) Because they know each other, a MinuteMob is less subject to compromise by infiltrators.

In their day, Minutemen did not need to concern themselves with surveillance by the FBI, DOJ, NSA or social media behemoths because nothing of the sort existed. In our day, a group of antifascist activists choosing to form a MinuteMob must be very aware of security form the very outset.
