I just landed at SeaTac. It was pretty bumpy from 8k feet on down. Pilot did a great job getting us down safely.

When I'm on a plane coming in for a dubious landing, I just think, the pilots don't want to crash either, and that keeps me calm.

Most landings are autopilot-assisted. Autopilot can react to gusts and changes in windspeed/direction faster than the pilot can.
