Unfortunately, I really doubt that’s how it would play out. I think many of the tensions in US that gave rise to Trump 2.0 are happening in Canada.

The left in Canada is:
A) much larger than in America, the Conservatives only win when the left splits among parties
B) further to the left. By Canadian standards the Democrats are a centre-right party.
Annexing Canada would be GOP political suicide.
