Tx for the article @cilliankelly.bsky.social. Seems so retrogressive to move back to a 'defined bouquet' of million things that most people don't want. I would have thought getting many more to watch globally what they want on demand at a decent price would trump a small elite paying lots...

Cycling certainly isn't taking it seat beside the Big Boys of Football and the NFL.

Its being lumped together with them to force cycling fans to help pay for the huge amounts of money that they had to bid to get them in the first place.

Great article and really conveys the changing landscape and what makes cycling different from mainstream sports. It’s the nuances that separate it from the likes of football and imo why those who’ve taken this decision have shown they just don’t understand it.

I said elsewhere it's taken a wee bit longer to do this from discovery but here we are. Sad to see Eurosport in the UK disappear.
I only ever wanted the push bikes & moty bikes & some snooker, so original price was fine. They'll lose a ton of subscribers with that price

I think the best bet to grow the sport, instead of going after the TikTok crowd is to go after podcast listeners. I used to say if you watch the end is like a sporting event, but the further out you start it’s like travel channel, that’s changed though, now the further out feels like a podcast

I really enjoyed your article and like you are concerned about the future of cycling. Particularly the impact this decision will have on viewership. Why have you banned your children from watching films Netflix and Disney+ but allow them to watch them on RTE? Why inflict adverts on your children?
