I have no issue with the big slice of unknown unknowns, as long as we can all agree that there is a difference between speculative fiction and observable fact. If you insist things about the unknown unknown that you WANT to be true, rather than which you can PROVE to be true, I will be sad.

It could be bigger or smaller, we admittedly don’t know.
A big part of that is WYKBYAW, What You Know But You Are Wrong.
Think how much of WYK was wrong for a person living in, say, 1825. Same for WYK today; just so wrong by 2225.
