1. first impressions: early loops, serious and focused. kind of a stick in the mud actually. later on there's an unshakeable sense of weariness to them. post EW they're way more relaxed, at peace with themself, and willing to step up to the tasks and challenges before them.

2. origin: xephre was born and raised in the Golmore Jungle as a wood-warder and moved to Eorzea as a young adult. they had to contend with a lot of culture shock and language barriers, plus (per my headcanon) Viera weren't very common in the west at that time.

3. patron deity: when first coming to eorzea, xephre felt most attunded to Oschon, the wanderer - they've always been driven to travel and explore. but as they become locked in their time loops, they start to wonder if Althyk, keeper of time and space, might have a stronger hold on their soul.

4. siblings: none they're aware of. their mother didn't have any kids before them, they last saw her when they were ~21, and given how long viera live and stay youthful, she very well may have had more.

I won't lie, I've entertained the idea of giving them a little sibling to get to know.

30. AUs: just a modern day AU where xeph works for the Seventh Dawn nonprofit helping at soup kitchens. they have some military experience and really like wrestling. like, real hand to hand combat, and participating in it. they don't have the time loop curse so they're much less doom and gloom.

as for un-tsundered forms... i wouldn't say canon xeph is *not* tsun but it's not super pronounced. they deny and downplay how much they like other people as a (poor) self defence mechanism. so yeah that happens less in the modern AU too
