Tonight, we join the nation in mourning the loss of President Jimmy Carter.

In the 1970s, Friends of the Boundary Waters worked with Carter's administration to pass the Boundary Waters Wilderness Act. By signing this bill, President Carter helped to make the Boundary Waters what it is today.
