#USA Socialism works in Scandinavian nations, but there a Protestant ethos rules politically and socially; the old world never got a foothold. Whereas in North America it was overrun by Catholics and Jews, so God, Greed, and Control became the mantra, summed up with "In God We Trust" on their money.

I won’t even address that and I shouldn’t respond at all. But it’s wrong: the US political/social philosophy is largely rooted in British libertarian thought: Locke, Mill, etc. There’s a bit of Rousseau, but overwhelmingly British. It’s not really debatable.

Was an Uber/Lyft driver in Boston for 5 yrs. Engaged racist rider - eventually he was kicked outta the car. Flabbergasted, complaining that I violated his 1A rights. “No, I’m not the govt. Consequences apply with your speech in a private setting.” Lyft was fine with my actions.
