shame we can't put these motherfuckers on a strict budget.. let's say, give each republican an empty tin cup, and see what they do on any street corner in the USA.. seems fair since they do not see why people should be making more.. if they had any brains they would want people to have more money
They exist in a stratosphere where they never have to interact with anyone different than themselves. They don’t KNOW any working people, so it’s really easy to discount them entirely. (Nothing to see here, lalalalalalala)
the GOP is inhumane & the first to call themsleves Christians - their Lord told them, feed the hungry, etc. - these are working people, showing up every day doing their jobs, it costs them to go to & from work (unless they'ree sleeping in the basement at WalMart) & they can't live on what they earn
They won't fix anything. Just like us seniors on Social Security. We get a slight raise then immediately they lower our food stamps and raise our rent in government subsided housing. We're better off not getting a raise in Social Security. It's friggin ridiculous.
I always like their thought process of "this is more of a state issue." Okay, the federal minimum wage is a mandate for states to follow, many going by this unlivable wage. Without raising it, the poverty line increases, and doing away with it gives states the right to lower their wages. Good lord!
That is worse than infuriating!! The stupidity of a maga voter…. I will forever miss the joy and respect of the Harris/Walz campaign. I ❤️ my Bluesky 🦋 family!!! A safe haven to feel peace and normalcy! 💙
BTW, the minimum wage hasn't been increased since 2009, which sounds like it was just yesterday but is, in fact, 16 years ago. Also, inflation has increased 47% since then. ALSO ALSO, the minimum wage used to have a purchasing power of 14 dollars in today's money back in 1968.
Not that he's gonna care, but I wrote to Sen. Dave McCormick's office about this today. Bessent is a no to raising min. wage that hasn't increased since '09 (coincidentally Congress got their last raise in 2009). Dec. 2024 they were looking for 3.8% ($6600+ on $174k). 3.8% of $7.25? Only 28 cents.
