FAA should refuse to man airports that they cannot fully staff. Close down America's biggest airports and move personnel to the smaller ones. This is NOT a strike, but a safety measure.

Not doing this will make FFA complicit for any accidents that happen because of understaffing.

I whole heartedly agree with your sentiment, but, as a retired ATC I will never choose to wager on a countdown to a possible midair collision. For 25 years, 365 days per year, 52weeks, 5 to 6 days a week, 8 hours a day, that fear was always there. Every ATC has that fear. Just ask them.
