"we, your representatives, can do nothing and we plan to do nothing" is just not very inspiring, whether it's said by chuck schumer or bernie sanders.1

Bernie Sanders: "The struggle against Trump, the struggle against oligarchy, which is led by Elon Musk ... that's not gonna be won here in Capitol Hill. It's gonna be won by millions of people all over this country standing up and saying, 'we fought and died for democracy.'"

because Bernie Sanders as a Senator can not stop this. Dems do not have control of ANY branch. Not even one house of Congress is theirs.
We definitely need a legislative refresh nationally, but Bernie’s honestly not super high on the list for me, not least because I think VT’s next most viable Senate candidate after Rep. Becca Balint is Republican Gov. Phil Scott. Groundwork first!
But he’s clearly come down with Senate brain.

Y'all don't remember the good old days when people would ask him how he'd accomplish his agenda and he'd say that the political revolution would pressure the government until it was inevitable?
I think (right or wrong) history will show he saw this coming well in advance. That does not necessarily mean he is equipped to stop it now that it’s here.
there is a lot of sexism that prevents women from getting nominated. insisting that Harris lost because of sexism will make that worse.
And, I also don't think shouting 'do something' to Congress is all that useful these days. I'm not hot about it, though.
Politicians are not heroes or celebrities to be worshipped, and the taste of power is too much for most to overcome, so all politicians need to held to the strictest "what have you done for me lately" standards, as we've all seen recently.
All of em.
It’s not just an age issue.
Might not work, people might not show up, but it's better than "well you guys are gonna have to figure it out on your own I guess" 😒
Sounds a lot better than “what can we do? What did you even elect us for?”
#democratic voters, on the other hand, can't think of ways to make these lawmakers wake up and listen
framing "don't criticize people in power" as some sort of grassroots movement is fucked up, from my perspective.
Ukraine got rid of a kremlin stooge.
Now its the Americans' turn.
The best defense is a local one. DC can’t save you.
We the people need to organize.
He is suggesting political revolution.
Pretty soon people wont be so afraid
Organizing is important; protest is important. But he is a senator. what is he doing? besides voting to confirm Marco Rubio.
There is not much he can really do during confirmations.
We all need to do something. Not just protest. Boycotts, and hopefully we can have a few days in a row that no one orders from amazon
He's lost the fire
