I am convinced that Diamond is the worst rank in Marvel Rivals. The amount of teammates that still stagger, don't swap off roles or can't tank is astounding. Trying to practice Psylocke and I get the worst teammates imaginable every single time. Even plat I get better teams - ThreadSky

There's a span in almost any ranked system where it's gonna more so reflect the amount of time a player has spent on the game rather than their actual skill

I've been experiencing it in SF6, but I'd imagine it's a nightmare to deal with in team games

Yeah that's exactly what it feels like, just the amount of time played for certain players so their rank is way more elevated than their actual skill level.

All it takes is one bad teammate in a team to sink the entire team. At least for Fighting games that means you can just win 1 v 1

Yeah, it's a curse for Rivals, but a boon in SF6. Diamond in SF6 is so much less stressful than Platinum is, despite the fact that Diamond players have way more time logged on from what I've seen
