Hey, they got a point. There should be deep desert free of rocks where you can only traverse by foot, and only by stepping without rhythm so as not to attract the worm, but also the various kinds of areas they wrote of in the books. So many different types of sand to choose from.

On one hand lol lmao, but on the other, there's a lot of different kinds of desert terrain and it would be neat for a dune game to essentially treat eargs/sand seas, rocky regions, mountainous regions, salt flats, flat rocky regions/hamadas, etc etc as totally seperate biomes mechanically

it kind of does, a teensy bit, just based on the general geography of the various regions as you go farther and further away from the relatively 'safer' starting area, there's a lot more that's mountain/rocky than is pure sand, but it would be cool if they offered additional desert areas.

I grew up in southern nevada, lots of different kinds of desert out there.

I haven't been to the Deep Desert yet but I imagine its a lot more sandy than the basin is.
