I want to mod games, but i can't stand having to download 3 separate zip files, decompress them and dragging them into specific places otherwise the game breaks.
I feel like most games that have lots of mods also have mod managers or at least a better form of organization than this but i get where you’re coming from
Always been weird about mods too. where I want to support devs and their vision vs. modding to make something new. I’m unclear how permission for modding works.
I wish more games did modding where they pay modders for high downloads. Some 3rd party mods client partnering with games would be great!
i still advocate people try things 99% vanilla to start out but if ur not having fun and youre on pc??? why not just fuck around with it. video games r supposed to be fun do whatever u want
and ofc there will always be preference but i always had this weird bias towards everything needing to be Pure even if i liked the game more with mods or cheats. and now im realizing thats kinda braindead and silly
i prefer easy games, i prefer appreciating everything about the interactive medium other than being difficulty gated like dark souls or something. so being able to make games easier for me along with other general improvements is just a win all around
Do what makes you happy with games. Personally I like vanilla friendly and QoL mods. But every once in a while a few mods to give me a laugh I throw in too.
i love modding games, i usually play them as is the first time around but even then imo some games it doesnt hurt to just mod them from the start because they're just better that way, like fnv or skyrim
I'm at a bit of an in between where I like mods that have a vanilla-ish vibe to them and tend to avoid the more "outlandish" ones for lack of a better term. Risk of Rain Starstorm my beloved
it’s completely game dependent for me. i only like vanilla minecraft cuz there’s already too much shit in that game for me. but i like mods in Sonic games a lot
