I haven't played Shadow Dragon DS since freshman year of highschool and all I can really say is that this is just kind of an oddly worse but also at the same time better version of Shadow Dragon NES

Good points
-the writing and presentation between chapters is really nice and elevates Marth's character a ton which is good
-really nice and snappy gamefeel
Bad points
-these sure still are NES maps
-this game was Not developed with Weapon Triangle in mind good lord
While the upgraded writing and localisation is strong, it’s just a shame that the visuals and art direction are so off-putting.
I think FE3 on the SNES remains the most visually appealing of Marth’s games by far.
a lot of this games negatives aren't even really faults of its own and more of it being a remake that tries to be both be updated for modern audiences while also being fairly untouched just enough to stay true to the original so it feels at odds with itself
imo its more fun on the harder difficulties bc it offers a bit more spice (and its so much fun to oneshot enemies with forged effective weapons loooool)
