Well, starting my 7th year later this month and still have about 4 average viewers.
I stream from my comfy livingroom at least. With or without obnoxious cats. 👍
I've hung with some people who ain't even got a mic lol
If you've got that passion, you find a way to make it work then you slowly build up on it and add whatcha want! Mic here, camera there, green screen or new rig.... SWAAAAAG behind ya 😏
Stream in my discord to a small group of decent people until you get your confidence up cause you’ve been saying this for months…sorry… your “friend” has been saying this for months 😂🩷
oh ahhahha omg yeah... that's the part people don't see. I put soo much time into editing, researching, networking etc. its a lot more than just "Hey guysss going liveeee"
I just want people to realise its more about the work you put in and not about how pretty your set up is.
Completely different job but it’s similar with teaching. People see the holidays we get, the 9-3 class day and think it’s a doddle. They don’t see the pressure of the job, the hours we put into planning/marking, the extra mile we go for the kids etc
Don’t get me started on how little people think teaching staff work 😂💀 I’d work 7am - 10:30pm some nights and I’d still have people like ooo another half term is it 🧍🏼♀️
Ahhh I love hearing success stories! Thank you for sharing! I just feel like people put too much pressure for how things “look” and not the content itself
Yeah same! Much more wholesome seeing how people started to then see they’ve carried on doing what they love!
I had like a mini breakdown of “what am I doing” moment when I bought all the kit (comparing myself to others 🤦♂️)- but then thought “ah fk it 😂” & just loved doing it!
Thanks man! A lot of people have missed the point of the post which is a shame tbh. But your comment at least proves it wasn’t all for naught. I’m never going to be embarrassed at what I’ve built and how far I’ve come from this!
Not at all. I love your progress. You’ve earned it. I stream a game now and then for funsies but never on cam bc I’ve been nervous / embarrassed. I shouldn’t be. If I just wanna have fun, why not? You only live once, yeah? And if people don’t like my setup, that’s on them. Haha Maybe someday. 💙
I started out on mic too! It took me ages to feel comfortable on camera, it’s all in baby steps, go at your own pace. I went from mic only to dressing up as a dinosaur 2ish years later 😂😂
That’s amazing!! 😂 People need to realize it isn’t the “things” that make a good stream. It’s the vibe. And you have a that. It’s a joy to see you stream.
It was good enough for what I’ve needed at the time! I have a son and he takes priority! 💪🏼🩷 I’m so thankful and lucky to have people support me as they have I’ll forever be thankful
There is a good interview with the animusic guy abkut what computers and hardware they used and it was just everyday things they already had. I think about it a lot.
Exactly, that was the point of the post lol. I’m quite self conscious of this set up and how much I’ve struggled with it so it’s hard to see the funny side ya get me?
That's fair. I hope I didn't come across as making fun of you or where you started out, that was definitely not my intention I promise!
I think it's cool to look back and see how far we've come as time has passed. Helps appreciate the things we've built in our lives, and hopefully inspires others
I’ve been so self conscious about posting this picture and the whole point is to be like it doesn’t matter what your setup is, you can still stream. You just gotta work hard and do your research.
It’s so disappointing that everyone is just laughing at it, like that’s literally the point of this post is to say just start no matter your situation 🥲
I’m not streaming (yet), just recording. But I JUST upgraded, literally tonight, from the PS5 record button to a capture card and I’m stupid hype for it.
it doesn't matter how it looks or what it is, as long as you're there and giving it your all, looking into trends, networking etc. etc. then you're good!
Well echo when you’ve got a child, they take priority, I’m not going to buy myself a sexy chair I can’t afford because I got my priorities straight. It’s upsetting that everyone is focusing on the chair when literally the point of this post is to encourage people to just believe in themselves
I think it rocks that you started with what you had. That's all I meant. To do it with a painful chair because it's what you wanted to do is all the more you being awesome. I love for you that your setup has gotten to being as sweet as it is now.
Apologies for being defensive but everyone has poked fun at the set up, it’s why I didn’t post it at the time, people really will judge your situation without knowing a thing about you. The whole point of this post is to say like don’t be afraid to start no matter how bleak your setup is.

I see you swagged out streamers lol
Asking for a friend. 🥺👍🏻
Sorry! I mean how you’ve worked your socks off from where you started.

When I started recording 2 years ago, I didn’t even have a proper desk but a Console Table for a hallway 😂
Screen + Elgato Arm Mount. Sorted 💪
Well done for sticking to it! 👏👏

Streaming is a lot more about you and your interaction with the viewers than it is about having the best equipment
It's cool to see how far you've come!
Sometimes gamers just have to work with what they have! 😂

And its meh. I cant really get as comfortable as I like.
I remember my first gaming PC setup. It was an old laptop on top of a large desk I shared with a roomamte. 😅
All you gotta do is start
Your first video, post, picture, stream etc will not be good but being consistent and learning will make you better 🔥
Growth is what’s it all about
