It seems like we are in a constitutional crisis, but I’m not sure I would go so far as to say the constitution is not in effect. A president breaking constitutional law doesn’t invalidate the whole constitution. It’s whether there is accountability for it, which has thus far been a mixed bag.

Not trying to minimize the seriousness of it at all. I just think it’s very important to be extremely nuanced and precise at a time like this, and mindful of how the way we talk about it may influence the behavior of less-engaged people (which is most of the country)

- A shadow president arrogating the power of the executive
- Rampant violations of civil service law
- Congress abrogating its oath by not impeaching those responsible
- The Supreme Court seemingly condoning it all

I would say all that together does, indeed, indicate that the Constitution is not in effect, at least for those parties mentioned or for those parties harmed by those mentioned.

The rest of us can keep acting as if the Constitution were in effect, but it's only a matter of time.

What I want is for enough people to come to the realization that the Constitution was ordained and established by the will of the people of the United States, and that ANYTHING ELSE WE CHOOSE TO ORDAIN AND ESTABLISH has equal force.
