Funny how that is, huh ? All of the blue states need to hold back $$ that we send to the fed govβt for the red states. They hate us anyway π€·π»ββοΈ
The states donβt send it to the Red states - our friggin Fed Govt does. And I totally agree with you. Weβll see when the roundups start, if the red states βget itβ then!
This is the kind of nonviolent response I want to see. When the red states completely refuse to comply with the paradox of tolerance, I propose that the blue states withhold paying. Full stop. They broke the contract and so should blue states. The only way they're going to learn is by pain.
Florida has decidedly been driven down after decades of Republican rule. Harder to vote, harder to get homeowners insurance, harder to get reproductive rive care, harder to protect yourself from gun violence.
Improvement isnβt the goal. Or at least our criteria or vision of improvement. Dumbing down for their evil purposes is their goal. We keep measuring their behaviors based on our morals and beliefs of what a good society is. They gave that up in favor of whatever this 4th Reich is.
The Republican Party engineers misery for their constituents, so they can point the finger and declare βSee! Government doesnβt work!β.
This allows them to gain support for dismantling our systems and open them up for rampant for-profit privatization to benefit their donors and line their pockets.
My answer....NONE, ZIP, ZERO..I'm from bright red KY. and have been here for over 20 years. The only improvements I've EVER seen in this state were when democrat Andy Beshear was elected. Even as bad as the pandemic was for our economy.
OK, Iβll go out on a limb here. Alaska. When AK Repub Gov Jay Hammond established the AK Permanent Fund, income inequality decreased significantly. The dividends were paid to every resident, man, woman, child. A big family could afford down payments on homes, take vacations, pay tuition, etc.
There arenβt any. For years, I have challenged the right to name any society-advancing, health-improving, civilization uplifting, future enhancing policy they have enacted and sustained. Crickets.
So glad to see you on here too!! By the way - have you seen the tons of Dems on Twitter and TikTok saying that they can't track their ballots - swing state voters?? Why does everything think a convicted felon/seditionist/fraudster/con played fairly this time??
Iβm in MI - I never even got my ballot in my itty bitty, completely RED little village. π€ I had to vote in person. But I did it! They ainβt silencing ME! πΊπΈπ
I get the frustration at being screwed over by both parties, but then to throw in with the party that actively does nothing for you and vilify the one that sometimes tries is baffling to me.
Utah is the one state the GOP dominates that seems to have reasonably decent governance.
I say that with strong reservations, but I think it is mostly true. It was NEVER a place Democratic politics influenced though. And it is probably a one-of-one situation, for obvious reasons.
Saying something positive about anything associated with the LDS church was not something I felt particularly comfortable with because I assumed something like what you described is true.
Most βChristiansβ arenβt Christian in any real way. I think thatβs especially true for the people that say they believe Jesus walked in the Old West.
Christianity is incompatible with voting for a rapist and felon, and who associates with rapists and felons, his best friend of 10 years ran a high cost pedophile ring.
Please do not lump people and stereotype.
I served 25 years. Iβm a patriot and love this country.
Would you automatically assume Iβm a MAGA?
Not ALL Christians are fascists.
Most Americans who self-identify as Christians couldnβt be further from the teachings of Jesus if they tried. The entire Evangelical movement, for example.
They try. Instead of moving to France and having perpetual translation cluster headaches, I might move to N.California. I think I'll be safe there. Katie Porter is running for Gov.!!!π₯°π₯³
Thatβs the point Joy. Any state, especially in the south with a sizable minority population, Republicans get elected by promising what they wonβt do. Their supporters know what they mean and vote them in even if it hurts them. Itβs also the reason 90% of black people vote against them.
There is not a one! My concern and disappointment lies with a blue state or blue governor of a red state not being able to persuade their electorate to vote for Kamala: Kentucky, Pennsylvania
There isnβt one & never will be one until they start caring about people. Their world view is just so twisted & warped & revolves around fearing everyone else who is not like them.
Can you explain ur answer? βCause as a Louisiana native we always used to say βThank God for Mississippiβ. Implied was that if it werenβt for MS, Louisiana would be at the bottom of the barrel for every measurable statistic: from economic opportunity and literacy to cancer and maternal health.
Iβm an ER doctor and therefore a scientist. Sending me a chart with no context and no study, BTW still showing low reading proficiency in MS, is not going to cut it for me. I want the paper, with cites and sources. Otherwise that cropped photo means nothing.
I think itβs gotten worse since 2020 when the Republican Governor Tate Reeves took $7 Million dollars that from the stateβs federal welfare funds to give to Brett Favre so that Favreβs daughter could have an athletic center to practice in
I checked the source. Miss does deserve credit for significant improvement that started around 2006 and continued through 2019 to the point that they are on par with most of the nation in reading even with COVID setbacks.
This bill is based on a 2002 Floridian Law; it was the house Democrats that fought for it. Republicans wanted students to carry guns, impose christian beliefs, and remove Judiasm from schools. Once again, the Democrats fought for human decency which allowed Mississippiβs education to flourish.

Oh, never mind.
But I was thinking more like El Salvador
Not one is my answer!!!

The all white church owns 99% of Utah. Mormons who fail are secretly pushed out of the state like Scientology.
Blessed undergarments is where I draw the line. π
One aunt housed a church full of people who lost their homes to flooding.
I wait to judge based on character and their actions.
