funfact!! minecraf 1.16 checks a 512x512 block area around the origin for potential world spawn locations, & if that entire area is ocean then it fails & places you directly at 0,0
this was patched out in 1.18, where it has stricter biome spawning conditions, & continues checking until it succeeds
ohhh, makes sense now, i was thinking spawns worked where it just goes in a direction (south i think?) until it finds spawnable land, which i think is how some other versions do it? i forgor
