Probably Trump just needs this precedent to justify his own imperialistic ideas

People who are trying to say that Trump's deal is not so bad for Ukraine are not grasping the crucial nature of him trying to bully Ukraine into handing legal control of Crimea to Russia. This is the USA rewriting the internationally recognized borders of Europe to suit a dictatorship.
