I know trans healthcare works and people can’t “always tell” because I went to see a doctor yesterday, I told them what was wrong, and they believed me and put me on the correct course of treatment straight away which would not happen if they had the tiniest inkling that I was a woman - ThreadSky

This!!! I actually once got refused UTI treatment because the doctor didn’t believe I was trans, three years on I still don't understand their logic.

I know right, I’m guessing they thought (wrongly) that you could only get UTIs if you’re AFAB. All they said was they wouldn’t let me have the antibiotic without proof I was a trans man. I complained of course and got both the antibiotics and a written apology.

Of course anyone can get a UTI.
And no one who has been through medical school, or indeed in contact with the real world, should be confused about that fact.

So many things are like this now post transition-as a trans man anyway. Weirdly invisible, yet possessing male privilege. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it entirely.
