Whether you meant this literally or not I think it is true. Her behaviours are much better examined through the lens of human psychology than politics or economics.
Also, putting aside what we may think of her politics, she is in a position of irreconcilable psychological stress. Everything her entire adult life has been about fell apart at top speed in a spectacular and utterly risible fashion. Itβs a helluvathing for a human mind to try to cope with.
Humiliation and shame are amongst the most powerful and unbearable emotions. Each of us will decide whether we can be bothered to spare her any empathy β sheβs an awful human being. Still, Iβd be amazed if she hasnβt struggled with desperate depression over the catastrophe sheβs made of everything.
You have to love a litigator's letter which asserts an actionable wrong but which does not contain any threat to litigate.
"Please stop saying these things about our client or we will ... do absolutely nothing because we would get struck out and laughed out of court".
Who would dare refuse?!
It is actually quite hard for litigators to resist the urge to threaten to sue people. It is deeply ingrained. But, yet again, Liz Truss has broken new ground and broken the will of even hardened defamation lawyers with the stupidity of her complaint.
I am beginning to dislike Liz Truss more than I do any other UK politician⦠taking aside the fact that she is wholly inadequate in about every single way, her ridiculous attempts at currying favour w Musk who thinks of her as nothing more than an annoying fruit fly are beyond contemptible
Goodness only knows what her poor parents think of her. That she can't see the glaring hypocrisy in those two things [& I doubt she can, she's so far down rabbit holes] is baffling, considering the heights she rose to. 80k Tory members have a lot to answer for; and again now!!
I almost want this stark raving hatstand case to go to court and see a nation submit their 2022-23 mortgage statements to evidence the truth of Labourβs assertion here.
Well if she wants to go down that route she needs to ask herself why the Conservatives ended up 38 points behind in the Polls towards the end of her brief Premiership. What I find especially annoying about her is her refusal to take personal responsibility for her actions
I thought anything that damages someoneβs reputation is defamatory, but truth is an absolute defence in court against being sued for it? (Alongside other defences like fair comment, qualified privilege, etcβ¦)
One question - WHAT reputation would that be? Truss is a lunatic f/r shill in hock to her backers, The Hetitage Foundation.
How can you damage the reputation of a known nazi sympathiser who cosies up to criminals like Trump?

It's no longer free speech when people say horrible things about me
This is the rule...
Also, I think the damage she alleges was caused by the statements happens every time she opens her mouth or posts on X.
Saying she crashed the economy implies on some level that she had a clue what she was doing.
